[00:00] Thank you, and welcome to the course!

[00:23] Time is so infinitely valuable, which is why I'm immensely appreciative that you've chosen to spend some of that extremely limited time with me in order to learn how to read more books.

*

[00:35] This entire course is now free, because I am raising money for Doctors Without Borders, the international humanitarian relief organization. They were the recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996, and they operate in dozens of countries globally, saving the lives of people negatively affected by natural disasters, genocides, civil wars, and everything in between.

*

[02:10] I've also made some big changes to the course, and will continue to make changes over time until this course is as close to perfect as I can make it.

*

[02:17] Eventually, I want to impact the lives of One Million Readers, and if I want to do that, I can't just have some weak, half-baked course. It has to be excellent. So that means re-recording all the modules, adding new material, removing fluff and filler, and focusing on relentless improvement over time.

*

[03:22] You'll notice that on the course curriculum page, the newer material appears first, and the old modules I haven't re-recorded yet appear later. They're still available for viewing (and the information quality is still great), but the newer stuff is new and improved.

*

[04:20] Again, I urge you to donate to MSF in order to fund their life-saving work all over the world, but if you want a better picture of what exactly they do, an excellent book I can recommend is called An Imperfect Offering, by the Canadian doctor James Orbinski. He was a past president of MSF, and his memoir is the chronicle of his time basically sewing up machete wounds in Rwanda, hooking up feeding tubes to starving children, and rallying political support for intervention in some of the worst humanitarian crises the world has ever seen.

[06:25] Links to everything I mention in every module can be found below, including my real email address in case you have any questions, some of my best book recommendations, and links to all 800+ of my book notes. So with all that being said, let's hit the books!
